The film “The Rise of the Sun” gives me a nerve-racking vicarious experience particularly when I witnessed the military encounter between the protagonist and the forces of eviltry. I was in rapt attention when I watched the climactic portion when the good elements are about to lose a good cause only to recuperate when the reinforcement in the form of an aerial assault arrived like ex dues machine seen in ancient Greek dramas.
I was amazed and wondering how much hardwork, time and effort has been spent just to be able to come up with state-of the-art cinematography in this movie. It is a classic war movie that that deserves admiration. One thing I remember in this movie is the significance of military sustainment. The humanitarian war could not have been won if the reinforcement called upon to help the group of rescuers did not come to their aid. The reinforcement deployed by the US government is well-equipped, an evident manifestation that military sustainment is central to winning a good military cause. The result could have been different if the soldiers sent to rescue are ill-equipped and militarily inept. In practical situations, the government should maintain its standards of military sustainment, one that will prepare the country from any threat of breach of peace and territorial integrity.
